CALAMBA MEDICAL CENTER GETS INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION

CALAMBA Medical Center (CMC) in Calamba City, Laguna received an international recognition from Health Care Asia for its initiative to fight tuberculosis.

The prestigious Health Care Asia award was bestowed upon the hospital on March 26, 2024 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center in Singapore.

The accolade serves as a testament to the hospital’s unwavering commitment to combatting this infectious disease and improving the health and well-being of its community.

According to the CMC, receiving the Disease Prevention Initiative of the Year is a validation of Calamba Medical Center’s dedication and effectiveness in addressing the challenges posed by tuberculosis.

Representing Calamba Medical Center during the award’s night were Dr. Rhodora Ocampo, chief medical officer;  Florencio Tenorio, chief finance officer; and Dr. Mark Kristoff Pasayan, Department chair of the CMC Disease Prevention and Control Center.

CMC reaffirmed its commitment to advancing healthcare services and making a positive impact on the health of individuals and communities.

Ocampo said the award not only honors the past achievements of the hospital but also propels it towards a future of continued success and leadership in healthcare excellence

In April 2022, the facility has launched the Dayang Masalanta Awards as a way to combat tuberculosis.

Dayang Masalanta Awards aims to inform CMC doctors that TB patients are eligible for free treatment within the TB DOTS clinic.

The recognition is given to physicians who can demonstrate commitment and support to the TB DOTS program by way of referring patients to be treated in the clinic.
