A BURNT sports utility vehicle found on the road in Capas, Tarlac yielded documents and identification cards belonging to missing Pampanga beauty queen Geneva Lopez, police investigators said yesterday.
The 27-year-old Mutya ng Pilipinas Pampanga 2023 candidate, and her Israeli boyfriend Yhshak Kohen, 37, both residents of Cande Regency Court, Malabanias, Angeles City, Pampanga, were reported missing by her family.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. showed that the Capas police were informed on June 22 about a burning vehicle on Capas-San Jose Road in Bgy. Cristo Rey in the town.
Members of the Bureau of Fire Protection Capas arrived at the scene and declared a fire out around 2:55 a.m. on the same day.
The Capas police conducted an ocular investigation and recovered from the vehicle partially burned documents with written name Geneva Lopez and her IDs.
Geneva’s sister, Joni, earlier filed a missing complaint at the Angeles City Police Station, prompting the Capas police to contact the relative.
The family confirmed that the vehicle that caught fire was the one Geneva and her boyfriend used.
Police were told that the vehicle was driven by Kohen.
Prior to the disappearance, the beauty queen told her family that she and Kohen were going to Capas, Tarlac to meet a man named Michael Angelo Barrento Guiang to get the payment for the land pawned to them by Guiang sometime in 2021.
Geneva’s family said the last contact with the duo was on June 21.
