A COLOMBIAN national on Tuesday night was arrested by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency following the confiscation of at least 1,350 milligrams of liquid cocaine worth P8,522,400 in a controlled delivery operation in Makati City.
PDEA Central Luzon identified the arrested suspect as Colombian national Santiago Francisco Amado Sopo alias “Antonio Cordero,” staying at Rise Tower on Yakal St., San Antonio, Makati City.
The parcel containing the illegal substances was intercepted at the Port of Clark on June 21.
“The liquid cocaine that originated in Colombia was concealed in a shipment that raised suspicions during routine inspection at the port,” the PDEA said.

“The discovery of the drugs prompted PDEA to launch a controlled delivery operation targeting the consignee in Makati City,” it added.
Recovered from the suspect were one brown box with three plastic bottle containers each containing liquid cocaine, two identification cards, and a cellular phone.
The operation was conducted by operatives led by PDEA Central Luzon, PDES IS, PDEA NCR, Bureau of Custom-Port of Clark, PNP AVSEC 3, Makati SDEU, and the Makati City Police Station.
A non-bailable offense for violation of Section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the arrested suspect.
