AN Australian couple and their Filipina companion on Thursday were found dead inside a hotel in Tagaytay City.
The Tagaytay City Police Station identified the victims as Australian national David James Fisk, 57; his Philippine-born Australian citizen wife Lucita Barquin Cortez, 55, and Mary Jane Cortez, 30, from Oriental Mindoro.
Mary Jane is the daughter-in-law of Lucita.
The bodies of the victims were found inside a room of The Lake Hotel in Bgy Maharlika West, Tagaytay City at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
Hotel staff Allan Manza told police that he went to Room 104 where the victims checked-in to remind them that it was their time to check-out.
Manza said that after several knocks, he received no response prompting him to open the door and found the victims lying face down and lifeless.
The hotel management immediately called the police.
It was learned that the Australian couple were vacationing in the Philippines when slain.
Tagaytay Mayor Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino expressed condolences to the families of the victims as he ordered the Tagaytay police to immediately solve the killings.
Cavite Police Provincial Office Director Col. Eleuterio Ricardo Jr. directed the chief of police of Tagaytay Component City Police Station to conduct an in-depth investigation for the identification and immediate arrest of the suspect.
