A BARANGAY chairman in Cavite on Saturday was killed in a gun attack in Maragondon town.
Slain was Rodrigo Tanagras alias “Rod,” the 53-year-old chairman of Bgy. Bridge A in Maragondon, said a report to town police chief Maj. Cris Mangupay.
Tanagras was helping barangay health workers cut grass along the village road when two armed men in a Honda Click car arrived and shot him repeatedly before fleeing.
The victim was rushed to San Lorenzo Ruiz Hospital in the nearby town of Naic but was declared dead on arrival by attending physician Dr. Glenerson Ontiveros.
Mangupay immediately ordered his men to arrest the suspects and determine the motive for the killing.
