THE House of Representatives will begin Monday, September 16, 2025, the plenary debates on the proposed P6.352 trillion 2025 national budget.
Based on the schedule of floor deliberations for the 2025 proposed budget which start 10 a.m., lawmakers would first debate on general principles used in putting together the budget.
On September 16, the agencies scheduled for debates include the Department of Finance (DOF), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Judiciary.
The following day, the Commission on Human Rights (CHR), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Tourism (DOT), and Department of Labor and Employment (DOE) are scheduled for the budget debates.
Lawmakers will tackle the budgets of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and State Universities and Colleges, on September 18.
On September 19, the budgets of the Department of National Defense (DND), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and Department of Migrant Workers (DMW)are included in the debates.
On the final day of the first week of debates, the agencies that will be discussed include the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and Presidential Communications Office (PCO), as well as allocation to local government units.
The budgets of the Office of the Vice President (OVP), the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Department of Health (DOH) will be up for scrutiny on Monday, September 23.
On September 24, the agencies scheduled include the Department of Education (DEPED), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Transportation (DOT), and the Commission on Audit (COA).
The Office of the President, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and the Congress of the Philippines will undergo the last round of debates on September 25, the day the House is scheduled to pass the proposed 2025 national budget.
House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on Sunday thanked the House Committee on Appropriations for finishing its hearings last week, paving the way for the plenary debates on the proposed budget that supports the prosperity and Bagong Pilipinas agenda of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr..
