PATIENT STABS NURSE TO DEATH IN BOHOL

A 51-YEAR-OLD nurse at the Bohol Doctors Hospital died while a utility worker was injured after they were attacked with scissors by a male patient on Thursday morning.

The fatality was identified only as Marie, a resident of Bgy. Dao, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

Marie succumbed to multiple stab wounds in the neck and chest..

The injured was utility worker, Francis Justiniare, 21, of Purok 4, Bgy. Cainsican, Inabanga.

Francis was also stabbed by the suspect after he tried to prevent him from further attacking the nurse.

The stabbing occurred at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024, inside the medical ward of the Bohol Doctors Hospital in Bgy.  Bool, Tagbilaran City.

Suspect, Marlito Linguis, 31, a resident of Purok 4, Bgy. Magsaysay, Sevilla town, surrendered to the police after the incident.

Prior to the attack, the suspect, along with several others, was admitted on Tuesday at the said hospital for food poisoning after eating “dinuguan” at a gathering in Bgy.  Magsaysay, Sevilla.

It was reported that on Wednesday night, the victim allegedly uttered something that upset the suspect.

On Thursday morning,  the suspect was about to be discharged when he suddenly grabbed a pair of scissors from the nurse station and repeatedly stabbed the victim.

Francis tried to help the nurse but was also stabbed in the abdomen by the suspect.

Police said the suspect was a drug surrender.
