A TRICYCLE driver and his passenger on Tuesday died when the trike they were riding collided head on with a dump truck in Porac, Pampanga
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, Pampanga police director Col. Jay Dimaandal identified the fatalities as tricycle driver Ranilo Tungcab Tolentino, 55, and his passenger Remedios Manguerra Tolentino, 60, both of Bgy. Pulung Santol, Porac, Pampanga.
Investigation showed that Renato Mangulabnan Miranda, 48, of Bgy. Pulung Santol, Porac, was driving a dump truck going to Porac proper while the victims were travelling on the opposite direction.
Upon reaching Porac-Sta. Rita-Guagua Road within the vicinity of Bgy. Pulung Santol, the tricycle suddenly occupied the opposite lane causing a head-on collision with the truck.
The truck dragged the trike for about 17 meters.
Witnesses rushed the trike driver and his passenger to Jose Songco Lapid District Hospital, where the duo were declared dead upon arrival.
Charges for reckless imprudence resulting in double homicide and damage to property were filed against the dump truck driver.
