A FORMER village chief on Thursday survived a gun attack in Marilao, Bulacan.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan,the Bulacan police identified the victim as Marcelino Bernardo, a businessman and former chairman of Bgy. Bahay Pare in Meycauayan City, Bulacan.
Bernardo was driving his vehicle when upon reaching the corner of Concepcion St. and Looban 1 Road in Bgy. Loma de Gato, Marilao, two men on a plateless motorcycle and wearing black long sleeves and helmets, blocked his path.
The suspects then fired several shots at Bernardo before fleeing towards Sta. Maria, Bulacan.
Witnesses rushed the victim to Marymount Hospital in Meycauayan, Bulacan for treatment.
Police immediately launched a dragnet operation for possible identification and arrest of the gunmen.
