POLICE are hunting down the seven members of a kidnap-for-ransom group who abducted a business caretaker and released him after paying ransom in Bataan.
Three of the suspects were positively identified by the victim from the police rogues gallery, according to a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan.
The three were Jefferson Quiliza alias “Jean Corona/Jeff,” Romel Alvarez alias “Taba,” and Rodney Dominguez.
Four other members of the kidnap-for-ransom group are still unidentified.
Investigation showed victim Julito Baja, 36, of Bgy. Gugo, Samal, Bataan, was manning the business establishment of his sister-in-law on Roman Highway, Bgy. Gugo, Samal when seven men on a white van with plate no. NEU 8577arrived, forcibly dragged him to the waiting vehicle and transported him to an undisclosed location.
The suspects later demanded P50,000 ransom from the owner of the establishment.
Upon payment of the ransom, the victim was released unharmed.
Baja, who later reported the incident to the Samal police, positively identified the three suspects from the police rogues gallery.
The Samal police said the suspects were also involved in previous robbery cases in the province.
