A PASSENGER jet crash-landed at an airport in southwestern South Korea leaving ar least 47 people dead.
The plane was carrying 175 passengers and six flight attendants when the tragedy happened.
Jeju Air flight 7C 2216 came from Bangkok when it crash-landed at the airport in Muan county, just after 9 a.m. local time Sunday.
Officials said the accident was caused by a landing gear malfunction.
Firefighters immediately responded and using water cannons extinguished the blazing wreckage of the aircraft.
Investigation is ongoing.
