ESCUDERO LEADS PROCLAMATION OF SORSOGON BETS WITH SOLID TRACK RECORD

SENATE President Francis “Chiz” G. Escudero on Friday led the proclamation of the local candidates of Sorsogon province with proven history of accomplishments.

Escudero proclaimed the candidates from the position of governor, congressmen, mayors, and down to the members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Sangguniang Panlungsod, and Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

The Senate President, a former governor of Sorsogon, handpicked the local officials he endorsed as public servants with solid track record who will put the best interest of the province first.

The leader of the Senate expressed confidence Sorsogon will retain its status as the fastest growing province in the Bicol Region, with the election of local officials whose goals and aspirations for his home province are aligned with his vision and program.

During the kick-off rally, Escudero personally endorsed the re-election bids of Gov. Edwin “Boboy” Hamor, Vice Gov. Krunimar Antonio “Junjun” Escudero II, 1st district Rep. Marie Bernadette “Dette” Escudero, and 2nd district Rep. Wowo Fortes.

Also proclaimed were the local candidates of Sorsogon City and the municipalities of Casiguran, Castilla, Donsol, Magallanes, Pilar, Barcelona, Bulan, Bulusan, Gubat, Irosin, Juban, Matnog, Prieto Diaz, and Sta. Magdalena.

“Tiwala ako na sa paghalal ng mga kandidatong kasama natin ngayon ay maipagpapatuloy ang pag-unlad ng ating mahal na lalawigan at pagbibigay ng serbisyo na inaasahan ng ating mga kababayan dito,” said Escudero.

“Una ang Sorsoganon sa progreso. Una ang Sorsoganon sa pagbalangkas ng makabuluhang polisiya para sa pakinabang ng ating mga kababayan. Una ang Sorsoganon sa pagbibigay ng tulong at kalinga sa bawat pamilyang Sorsoganon,” he added.

Just like in the past elections, the veteran legislator said he is confident the polls will once again be peaceful and orderly in Sorsogon, as well as the other provinces in the Bicol Region.

“The polls have been conducted peacefully here in Sorsogon compared to other Bicol provinces. Pero pagnanais ko ito na makita rin sana sa ibang probinsya sa Bicol Region at hindi lamang dito,” Escudero said.

“Ngayon magsisimula ang lokal na kampanyahan para sa lokal na posisyon, tama na ang intriga ng mga nagdaang araw. Klaro na dapat ngayon, dinidikta ito na hindi lang delicadeza pero pagkakaroon din ng isang salita na mula sa araw na ito para wala nang selosan, siraan o intrigahan,” he added.

Through the leadership of Gov. Hamor, Senate President Escudero announced that Sorsogon will be hosting the annual regional sporting event Bicol Meet in 2027, as well as the Palarong Pambansa.

The province will showcase its newly-built Sorsogon Sports Arena, the new landmark of Bicol that can host up to 54,000 athletes and spectators.

Inspired by the iconic Colosseum in Rome, the Sorsogon Sports Arena is situated within the 7.1-hectare Sorsogon Sports Complex that also houses the Department of Education-Sorsogon building and the department’s gymnasium.
