A SUPPOSED happy family outing on Saturday turned tragic when a 10-year-old boy drowned at a resort in Calumpit, Bulacan.
A report to Police Regional Office (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo by the Bulacan police identified the victim as Jose, of Baseco, Compound Port Area, Manila.
Initial probe showed the boy, with his family and some relatives, went swimming at Jed’s Island Resort located in Bgy. Gatbuca, Calumpit.
Around 6 p.m. on Saturday, the family informed the management of the resort that the boy was missing.
Despite efforts made throughout the night, the victim was not found.
However, the next day, the victim’s body was found floating face down in the lagoon.
The boy was rushed to the Calumpit District Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
