AN overseas Filipino worker (OFW) and a welder tagged as “high-value” targets on Tuesday were arrested in a buy-bust operation in the City of San Fernando in Pampanga.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Pampanga police director Col. Jay Dimaandal identified the suspects as alias “Vidal,” 42, an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) residing in Bgy. Saguin, City of San Fernando, Pampanga; and alias “Xander,” 43, a welder, of Bgy. Sto. Tomas, Lubao, Pampanga.
The suspects yielded over P300,000 worth of shabu in an entrapment operation in Bgy. Del Pilar, City of San Fernando.
The buy-bust conducted by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Pampanga Police Provincial Office and the City of San Fernando police, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 3, also resulted in the seizure a cal. .38 gun loaded with two live rounds of bullets, a cellphone, and a Toyota vehicle.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and the Omnibus Election Code (Gun Ban Law) were filed against the suspects.
