TWO alert South Korean tourists were able to prevent a group of men from robbing them using a toy gun in Angeles City, Pampanga.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Angeles City police acting director Col. Joselito Villarosa Jr. identified the two foreigners as Park Youn Son, 35; and Kim Hyeong, 46, both South Korean nationals staying at Kandi Tower 1 Hotel in Bgy. Malabanias, Angeles City.
The victims were smoking outside the hotel being manned by security guards when the suspects arrived on motorcycles.
One of the suspects approached the victims and pointed a gun at Park. Alert Kim intervened ans tried to protect his compatriot, which later led to a physical struggle.
During the fight, Park was hit by the gun on the left eye. He was able to seize the firearm from the suspect, which later was found to be a toy gun.
Knowing they cannot defeat the two Koreans, the suspects decided to escape on their motorcycles.
Police are checking the CCTV footage in the area for possible identification of the suspects.
