TRANSPORTATION Secretary Vince Dizon has ordered the immediate suspension and eventual revocation of the driver’s license of a Taxihub Transport driver who overcharged a NAIA passenger, which was caught on video.
Following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s order to ensure that passengers are charged fairly, Dizon likewise ordered the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to initiate crackdown on abusive taxi drivers in airports and seaports nationwide following the incident.
“Under the order of the President himself, I am directing LTO and LTFRB to conduct operations at our airports, specifically at NAIA, against these taxis that prey on our kababayan and tourists para mahuli natin lahat ng mga ganito,” Dizon said.
“Between Terminal 2 at Terminal 3, sobra naman isang libo, P1,200, kalokohan na ‘yun, pang aabuso na ‘yan,” he added.
The transport chief likewise ordered the revocation of franchise of all 15 taxi units of Taxihub Transport, which was discovered to have been expired since March.
“Lahat ng mga namamasada, lahat ng operator, may prangkisa kayo para magbigay ng serbisyo pero may responsibilidad kayo. ‘Pag kayo ay lumabag, may kaukulang kaparusahan ‘yan,” he maintained, adding appropriate charges will be filed against the Taxihub Transport operator.
