POLICE are hunting down the suspect who shot and seriously wounded a 5-year-old girl in Lucban, Quezon.
The victim, a resident of Urban Poor Subdivision, Phase 1, Bgy. Ayuti, Lucban town, sustained gunshot wounds in the arm and stomach.
A report to Quezon police director Col. Ruben Lacuesta by Lucban police chief Maj. Bryan Vicedo stated that based on investigation, the gun attack occurred at 2:25 p.m. on Monday.
The victim and her elder brother were at the terrace of their house when the suspect arrived on a motorcycle and without a word shot the child before fleeing.
Family members rushed the victim to MMG Hospital for treatment.
Lacuesta immediately ordered an investigation into the shooting and to put the suspect behind bars.
The Quezon top cop directed his men to conduct backtracking of the CCTV cameras in the area for possible identification and arrest of the gunman.
Vicedo, meanwhile, sought the help of the Scene of the Crime Office (SOCO) from the Quezon Provincial Crime Laboratory Office to process the crime scene.
