CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police on Friday arrested a 35-year-old man for illegal sale and possession of a gun and ammunition in San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) acting regional director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. identified the arrested suspect as alias “Den,” of San Rafael I, Area H, SJDM, Bulacan.
Operatives of the 301st Maneuver Company, and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3, in coordination with the San Jose del Monte City police, launched the sting in Bgy. Paradise, San Jose del Monte City.
Seized from the suspect were a cal. .38 revolver with a defaced serial number, three live rounds of bullets, the marked money, and a plateless motorcycle.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act were filed against the arrested suspect.
Peñones commended the operating units for their vigilance and commitment.
“This operation is yet another clear demonstration of our unwavering resolve to curb the circulation of loose firearms in Central Luzon. We are intensifying our efforts to identify and arrest individuals engaged in the illegal trade of firearms that pose a threat to public safety, Peñones said.
“I commend the personnel of RMFB3 and SJDM CPS for their swift, coordinated, and professional action. Let this be a stern warning to those involved in similar illegal activities — your days are numbered,” he added.
