THREE members of the “Gapos gang” early Thursday morning attacked in Nueva Ecija and fled with over P1.5 million worth of cash and valuables.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Penones Jr., the Nueva Ecija police identified the victim as Rolando Amis, 68, an OFW residing in Bgy. Mambangnan, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija.
The house owner told police that three men, all wearing black jackets and bonnets, forcibly entered his house by breaking the glass door and tearing the window screen.
Once inside, the suspects hogtied the victim’s wife Amorfina, 67, and put a packaging tape on her mouth.
The suspects then stole several items, including US$10,200 (P550,000, a Rolex wristwatch worth P400,000, three gold bracelets worth P180,000, a white gold wedding ring worth P40,000, three diamond earrings worth P160,000, a cellphone worth P18,000, and the P255,000 cash before fleeing.
The San Leonardo police are reviewing the CCTV footage in the area for possible identification and arrest of the robbers.
