CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) acting director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. recently led the distribution of handheld radios to each Provincial Police Office, City Police Office, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3, and Provincial Mobile Force Company during a ceremonial turnover held at the War Room in this camp.
Peñones said the move was part of the continuing effort to strengthen police communication and field coordination.
Likewise, the initiative aligns with the three core pillars of PNP chief Nicolas Torre III – specifically swift and responsive public service, accountability, and modernization — by enhancing operational connectivity and frontline responsiveness throughout Central Luzon.
“This simple yet strategic initiative represents our commitment to a modernized and well-connected police force. With these radios, we enhance our ability to respond swiftly to emergencies, coordinate more effectively on the ground, and maintain accountability in every operation. We are bridging the gap between plans and action — real-time, reliable communication is key to that,” Peñones said as he underscored the significance of this distribution.
The Central Luzon top cop stressed that equipping ground units with advanced communication tools is a direct response to the call of the PNP chief for more agile and service-oriented policing.
“Modernization is not just about high-end technology; it’s about ensuring that even our basic tools — like communication — empower our personnel to serve with speed, precision, and integrity,” Peñones added.
The newly distributed handheld radios are expected to boost the daily operations of police units and ensure seamless coordination during critical incidents and public safety operations.
This marks another milestone in PRO3’s thrust to elevate police service delivery in the region, in pursuit of excellence under the PNP mantra “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang Gusto ng Pulis, Ligtas Ka.”
