A COUPLE on Wednesday were killed when a provincial bus rammed a van and a carindera in Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija.
The Nueva Ecija police identified the fatalities as Edwardo Yumol, 56; and Rochele Yumol, 56, owners of Lutong Bahay canteen residing in Bgy. Santo Rosario, Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija.
The tragedy occurred on Santa Rosa-Tarlac Road in Bgy. Santo Rosario, Santa Rosa.
An investigation showed the driver of Solid North Bus identified as Edgardo Caratiquit, 53, of Bgy. Sumacab Este, Cabanatuan City, lost control of the vehicle that swerved left and accidentally collided into a parked van.
The bus then continued moving forward and crashed into a nearby carinderia, hitting the sleeping couple.
The couple and the bus driver were rushed to the Nueva Ecija Doctors Hospital, where the Yumols were declared dead on arrival.
The bus driver is in serious condition.
