A MAN accused of raping his own daughter for nine years in Occidental Mindoro on Wednesday was arrested by the police in an entrapment operation in Quezon City.
Quezon police director Col. Romulo Albacea said arrested in Bgy. San Jose Mindanao Extention, Fairview, Quezon City was alias “Marlon,” a van driver and a resident of Bgy. Ibabang Ilasan, Tayabas City, Quezon.
The suspect is facing 29 counts of statutory rape and 22 counts of sexual assault for allegedly sexually molesting his own daughter.
Albacea said alias “Marlon” was caught by operatives of the Tayabas City Police Station led by Lt. Col. Elizabeth Capistrano based on warrants of arrest issued by Judge Catherine Mariño- Monsod, Family Court, Branch 10, in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro.
According to Capistrano, the suspect started to sexually molest his own daughter when she was only six years old.
The rape, which started in 2016 and lasted for nine years, occurred in Paluan, Occidental Mindoro.
The victim told probers that the rape usually happened when her mother was not around and working as household help in Mamburao also in Occidental Mindoro.
The daughter said she was not able to tell anyone about her ordeal after her father threatened to kill her.
On January 16, 2025, the girl had the courage to tell her teacher about the rape and a formal complaint was filed against her father.
On March 26, a warrant was issued for the suspect’s arrest.
“Sa pamamagitan ng messenger, pinainan namin siya (suspect) ng babae na nagkunwang call girl na agad naman niyang sinunggaban,” Capistrano said on how they were able to capture the suspect. GF
