CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — A man who confessed to killing a police officer in Taguig City on Thursday surrendered to the Bataan police.
Based on a report submitted to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. by Bataan police director Col. Marites Salvadora, the suspect was identified as alias “Rocky,” 43, of Taguig City.
The suspect surrendered to the Hermosa police in Bgy. Culis, Hermosa, Bataan.
Alias “Rocky” also turned over a PNP-issued 9mm Taurus pistol, a motorcycle, and several IDs.
The suspect admitted to killing Police Staff Sergeant Ibrahim Macadatar, of Lower Bicutan, Taguig City, who was assigned at the PS4 Sub-Station 6, San Juan City police, National Capital Region Police Office ( NCRPO).
The suspect is now under the custody of the Hermosa police.
Peñones praised the swift action of the Bataan police saying: “The voluntary surrender of the suspect and the recovery of the firearm highlight the importance of close coordination among police units.”
“Justice for our fallen comrade must prevail, and we will ensure that due process is observed. PRO3 remains steadfast in upholding the rule of law and protecting both our personnel and the communities we serve,” he added.
The Central Luzon top cop said the case also mirrors the thrust of acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. on crime prevention and investigation through the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), underscoring the PNP’s commitment to effective policing and public accountability.
