CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – The intensified operations by the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) on Monday led to the arrest of four “high-value targets” (HVTs) and the confiscation of shabu worth more than P900,000, and a firearm.
Joint operatives of the Magalang Police Station and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, in coordination with PDEA Region 3, launched an intelligence-driven anti-illegal drugs operation in Bgy. Sta. Lucia, Magalang, Pampanga, which resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old male drug suspect.
Seized from the suspect were around 54 grams of suspected shabu valued at P367,200 and a cal..38 revolver.
Two hours later on the same day, personnel of the San Fernando City police conducted a buy-bust operation in Bgy. Malino, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, and arrested three high-value individuals.
Confiscated from the trio were some 80 grams of suspected shabu worth at least P544,000.
The arrested suspects were charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. commended the operating units for their successful operations, stressing that these accomplishments reflect the strong momentum of the organization in eradicating the menace of illegal drugs.
“These back-to-back arrests of ‘high-value targets’ manifest our unyielding resolve in support of the 7-Point Agenda of our acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., particularly the sustained campaign against illegal drugs, loose firearms, and terrorism,” the official said.
“We will continue to employ enhanced intelligence-driven operations, in close coordination with PDEA and other partner agencies, to ensure that Central Luzon remains a safe and drug-free region,” Peñones added.
