A 12-YEAR-OLD boy who was playing with other children on Friday was found drowned in a river in Bgy. Sta. Filomena, Guagua, Pampanga.
In report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr., the Pampanga police said the drowning incident was reported to the authorities by the boy’s grandmother, Marilou Pinlac, 58, of Bgy. Sto Cristo, Guagua.
The grandmother told police that prior to the drowning, her grandson was playing on the riverbank with four other children in Bgy. Sta. Filomena.
Moments later, the boy was nowhere to be found.
The grandmother immediately sought help from barangay officials who informed the Philippine Coast Guard and Special Operation Group-Pampanga led by PO3 Francis Mari to conduct a search and rescue operation.
The boy’s body was later found on the bay area of the river.
Police ruled foul play since there were no signs of physical injury on the victim’s body.
