ANGELES CITY — Over 71,000 imported butane canisters worth nearly P3 million on Monday were seized by the authorities in a raid at a warehouse in Bgy. Cutcut, Angeles City.
The operation dubbed OPLAN LIRA was carried out for violation of Republic Act 11592 (LPG Industry Regulation Act) issued by Hon. Erick A. Sadural, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 116, Angeles City.
Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit 3 (CIDG RFU3), together with the Angeles City police, implemented the search warrant against Arsys Trading Corporation located at Crismin Warehouse, Sitio Taguete, Bgy. Cutcut.
Seized were 71,680 pieces (1,960 boxes) of Maxsun butane canisters and business documents related to the warehouse’s operations.
The seized items have an estimated market value of P2,944,000.
The suspects, identified as alias “Gan” and Korean national alias “Chong,” both residents of Bgy. Cutcut, Angeles City, were not present during the raid and remain at large.
Officials said the raid stemmed from verified information provided by a civilian informant about the unlawful trading and storage of imported butane products without the required authorization from the Department of Energy (DOE).
The successful operation demonstrates the unwavering commitment of CIDG to strictly enforce the law and safeguard the public from hazardous and unauthorized petroleum products.
