CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3 under the leadership of PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. has committed full security support to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) during inspections of major flood-control projects in Central Luzon.
Acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. earlier stressed that police units nationwide are ready to provide protection for DPWH personnel and engineers while conducting site inspections.
Peñones said local police were tasked to secure the ongoing flood-mitigation projects, which he described as vital to safeguarding lives and livelihoods in the region.
“Here in Central Luzon, we recognize the importance of flood-control projects in protecting communities from disasters. PRO3 will provide the necessary security to ensure that inspections are conducted smoothly and without disruption,” Peñones said.
The Central Luzon top cop also directed provincial and city police offices to coordinate closely with DPWH field teams and local government units in providing assistance during inspection activities.
The directive also follows the guidance of DILG Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla, who highlighted the need for sustained security measures for DPWH workers in the field.
Peñones emphasized the PRO3’s continued support for government infrastructure programs, noting that protecting critical projects and ensuring the safety of inspection teams are essential in building disaster-resilient communities across Central Luzon.
