A FISHERMAN died after being struck by lightning while tending to his fishpond in Bgy. Consuelo, Macabebe, Pampanga
A report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Penones Jr. by the Pampanga police identified the victim as Alexander Salonga, a 52-year-old resident of Dalusong, Bgy. Consuelo, Macabebe town.
Salonga suffered severe burnt wounds on his body.
Witnesses told police that Salonga was feeding milkfish when a powerful lightning bolt struck the area.
Fishpond caretaker Arlyn dela Cruz of Hagonoy, Bulacan said they later found the victim submerged in water where he had been working.
Salonga was rushed to the Macabebe District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
