MANILA Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso has ordered Manila Police District (MPD) chief Brig. Gen. Arnold Abad to strictly implement the curfew for minors in the city.
The mayor reiterated the provisions of Executive Order No. 2, Series of 2025, which enforces a curfew from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. for individuals aged 17 and below.
Moreno issued the order following a series of violence that erupted in parts of the city during the anti-corruption rallies held on Sunday.

According to the Manila mayor, the directive aims to ensure the safety of minors during mass gatherings and maintain peace and order in the community.
As various groups launched simultaneous demonstrations across Metro Manila and other parts of the country to demand accountability from the widespread corruption in the government, several youth protesters wearing black masks were involved in violent clashes with the police on Ayala Bridge and Mendiola in Manila.

At the Ayala bridge, rowdy protesters attacked the police, who implemented maximum tolerance.
A container van, which was used as barricade against demonstrators, was set on fire by the protesters.
The Manila Police District (MPD) said 84 police personnel were reported hurt, with 15 brought to hospitals for treatment.
Police added that some 72 protesters were arrested. They remain in MPD custody under the District Investigation and Detective Management Division (DIDMD) and Women and Children Protection Section (WCPS) for the filing of charges such as malicious mischief, violations of the Anti-Barricade Act, and other related offenses.
Authorities said the youngest of the protesters was 11 years old.
In Mendiola, the police were forced to use water cannons and a long-range acoustic device to disperse the masked protesters throwing rocks, metal fences, and a firecracker at the policemen.
Thousands from different sectors, including celebrities, joined the Sept. 21 rally to condemn the corruption in government.
