GUIGUINTO, Bulacan — A KFC branch in this town on Tuesday fell prey to thieves.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. by the Bulacan police showed that robbed was the fast-food outlet located on Bypass Road in Bgy. Tiaong.
At least five unidentified men broke into the establishment and fled with more than P178,000 in cash and valuables.
CCTV footage showed the suspects arrived on board a white Mitsubishi L300 with plate number GYQ 9098.
Three of the suspects forcibly opened the fire exit door and slipped inside and went straight to the filing cabinet beside the manager’s office, which contained the store’s vault.
The cabinet was pushed to the back door, where the getaway vehicle was waiting.
The group then loaded the vault into the van before fleeing towards Plaridel town.
Police said the stolen vault contained P178,090.07 cash, a cheque worth P5,361.50, a Samsung tablet valued at P4,000, and two Android cellphones.
The break-in was discovered when manager Michelle Culianan arrived for work and noticed her fire exit keys were not functioning. When she pushed the door open, she saw that the vault was missing.
The burglary was reported to the Guiguinto Police Station by store manager Mark Christian Bautista, 32, of Baliuag, Bulacan.
Authorities are conducting follow-up investigations to track down the suspects.
