ACTOR Archie Alemania was found guilty of acts of lasciviousness and was sentenced to up to one year imprisonment.
The case was filed against the actor by actress Rita Daniela.
In its decision, the Bacoor City court sentenced Alemania to an “indeterminate penalty” of one month and one day of arresto mayor as minimum to one year and one day as maximum penalty.
The court also ordered Alemania to pay the complainant ₱20,000 in civil indemnity and ₱20,000 in moral damages.
The court noted that Alemania’s own statements admitted his actions.
Daniela’s legal team welcomed the decision, saying justice was served.
“Of course, we are very happy with the decision. Rita fought and she attained justice,” said attorney Maggie Abraham-Garduque, counsel for Daniela.
