CAMP CAPTAIN JULIAN OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga —The Regional Medical and Dental Unit 3 (RMDU3) Emergency Response Team helped a pregnant woman deliver her baby inside a tricycle earlier this week.
A tricycle rushed into the camp seeking urgent assistance for the woman who was already experiencing strong contractions.
Under the supervision of RMDU3 chief Col. Jonathan Adanglao, the emergency team led by Capt. Aron Cardijon, OIC of the Nursing Service, along with Lt. Minet M. Bangit, operations officer, and duty infirmary personnel, immediately mobilized to provide aid.
After assessing the situation, the responders determined that the mother would not make it to a hospital in time.
Working under pressure, the team conducted an emergency delivery right inside the tricycle.
The coordinated and efficient efforts of the team helped the woman successfully deliver her healthy baby.
Both the mother and the newborn were given immediate post-delivery care before being transported to a nearby hospital for further observation and medical attention.
Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. commended the medical team for their rapid and decisive action, emphasizing their dedication to public service.
“This incident shows the true heart of PRO3 personnel—ready to help, ready to save lives, and ready to serve with empathy and dedication. The quick action of RMDU3 embodies the kind of public service we strive to uphold every day,” Peñones said.
The official added that the unit’s swift response reflects PRO3’s commitment to community welfare, which aligns with the PNP Focused Agenda of acting chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., particularly in promoting responsive, compassionate, and service-oriented policing.
The mother and the baby are in stable condition.
