AN armed encounter between drugs suspects and members of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) has left at least three persons dead in Quezon City.
In a report submitted to Quezon City Police District chief Col. Randy Glenn Silvio, the gunfight occurred on 13th Avenue in Bgy. Socorro, Cubao, Quezon City.
The fatalities were all suspects involved in the operation. Their bodies were still being processed late Tuesday by personnel of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) and the PNP Forensic Group.
An information indicates that the suspects had been under surveillance by the PNP-DEG in Bulacan before the operation was set in place in Cubao.
Several spent casings were recovered at the scene of the crime.
A brown box was found from a hatchback vehicle at the scene, with its contents packed in multiple sealed sachets. Police have yet to confirm whether the items are illegal drugs.
Recovered from the vehicle was a substance believed to be shabu, with an estimated value of about P6 million.
An investigation is ongoing.
