TWO suspects linked to a series of fast-food chain robberies in Bulacan and Pampanga on Monday were arrested in Caloocan City.
The arrest was made following a swift and coordinated operation by the Police Regional Office 3.
The suspects were captured after a robbery incident on Sunday involving fast food outlets in the towns of Bustos and Santa Maria, Bulacan.
According to reports, the Santa Maria police, in coordination with other units under the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, tracked the suspects’ getaway vehicle in their hideout in Caloocan.
Confiscated from the suspects were a gray Toyota Avanza, two sets of license plates (NIQ 9065 and NIF 4547), a cal. .38 revolver loaded with live ammunition, P10,000 cash, P13,000 in assorted coins, as well as several tools and personal items believed to have been used in the commission of the crimes.
PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. lauded the quick response and coordination among the operating units, commending their professionalism and discipline.
“This swift operation shows how quick coordination, focus, and dedication translate into results. Because of the vigilance of our police officers, we were able to stop this group from targeting more establishments,” said Peñones.
The Central Luzon top cop said the successful operation reflects the Focused Agenda of acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., emphasizing Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) and Integrity Monitoring — both aimed at strengthening intelligence-driven and transparent policing.
“As we enter the busy Yuletide season, PRO3 will continue to tighten security operations across the region to ensure that our communities and local businesses remain safe and protected,” Peñones said.
Criminal charges are being readied for filing in court against the arrested suspects.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the possible involvement of the suspects in other similar robberies across Central Luzon.
