POLICE are hunting down a security guard who allegedly robbed a bank on Monday and stole a tricycle he used in his escape in Iba, Zambales.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Penones Jr., robbed was the GM Bank in Purok 1, Bgy. Palanginan, Iba town.
The suspect was identified only as “Sultan,” a security guard and a resident of Zone 2, Iba.
Richard Lopez, 51, an area manager of GM Bank, said prior to the holdup, the suspect had reported for duty.
However, around noon of the same day, the suspect allegedly pointed his issued cal. .38 revolver at Lopez and declared a holdup.
Lopez said the suspect took the P670,070 cash and a cellphone worth P4,000.
The suspect used as getaway vehicle the trike of tricycle driver Henry Uy, a resident of Zone 6, Iba.
Upon reaching Posada’s in Bgy. Palanginan, the suspect pointed his firearm at Uy and forcibly took the tricycle with plate number 2938.
Pursuing members of the Iba police were able to recover the stolen tricycle, which was found adandoned at Primer Gasoline Station in Bgy. Dirita, Iba.
Efforts to locate and apprehend the suspect are ongoing.
