THE Senate building in Pasay City on Sunday morning was hit by fire, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
The fire broke out around 6:30 a.m. Sunday at the office of the Legislative Technical Affairs Bureau on the third floor of the building.
It reached second alarm and was declared under control at 7:43 a.m..
The BFP said no casualties were reported.
Meanwhile, Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III assured the public that all Senate records, including those of the Blue Ribbon Committee, remain “intact and unaffected.”
“Rest assured that all pertinent Senate documents, including those of the Blue Ribbon Committee, remain intact, safe, and completely unaffected by the fire,” Sotto said.
Probers are determining the cause of the blaze.
