TWO men tagged as most wanted rape suspects on Thursday were arrested by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Regional Field Unit 3 in separate intelligence-driven operations under “Oplan Pagtugis” in Bataan and Zambales.
According to CIDG RFU3 chief Col. Grant Gollod,the first suspect, alias “Bert,” 62, a vendor and resident of Bgy. Masapsap, Orani, Bataan, was arrested in Bgy. Bayan, Orani.
Alias “Bert” was caught by joint elements of the CIDG Bataan Provincial Field Unit as lead unit, Orani police, and San Jose police in Occidental Mindoro by virtue of a warrant of arrest for statutory rape.
The arrest warrant was issued by the RTC Branch 46, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, with no bail recommended.
In a separate operation earlier that day, authorities also arrested alias “Ebel,” 35, of Bgy. Mabanglit, Cabangan, Zambales.
Alias “Ebel” is tagged as the no. 2 most wanted person in Central Luzon.
The suspect’s arrest was carried out by joint operatives of the CIDG Zambales Provincial Field Unit as lead unit, the Cabangan police, Masinloc MLET, Zambales Maritime police, Provincial Intelligence Unit of ZPPO, and Regional Intelligence Unit PIT Zambales.
Gollod said the suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Family Court, Third Judicial Region, Branch 13 in Iba, Zambales, for two counts of qualified rape of a minor, also with no bail recommended for each case.
Both arrested suspects were informed of the nature of their cases and were set to undergo proper documentation before being turned over to the courts of origin for further legal proceedings.
