EXPANDING access to free healthcare, the provincial government of Laguna headed by Gov. Sol Aragones officially completed all 30 Akay ni Gob Botika sites across 24 municipalities and six cities, benefiting more than 53,800 residents of the province.
The milestone marks a significant step in addressing the rising cost of maintenance medicines, ensuring that essential treatment becomes more accessible to Lagunenses through a structured and efficient distribution system.
The fully established network of botika outlets, implemented in coordination with the Provincial Health Office and the health team of Laguna together with Laguna Health Consultant Dr. Eric Tayag, now serves thousands of individuals managing chronic illnesses, offering vital medicines such as Losartan, Amlodipine, Metformin, Simvastatin, B-Complex, and Clopidogrel.
With the program now complete, more families are able to sustain their daily medication needs without the financial strain often associated with long-term treatment.
Aragones underscored the program’s long-term commitment to the people, stating, “Hanggang Governor si Sol, libre po ang maintenance na gamot ninyo.”
She also reminded beneficiaries to follow proper procedures to ensure smooth transactions. “Huwag kakalimutan ang inyong reseta at ang inyong mga booklet sa tuwing kayo po ay kukuha ng inyong gamot,” she added.
Beneficiaries have expressed strong support and appreciation for the initiative, citing its direct impact on their daily lives.
“Natutuwa po ako nung nalaman ko na may libreng maintenance na po ng gamot. Sabi ko po ay hindi po sayang ang boto ko kay Gob Sol,” shared one beneficiary from Pakil, Laguna.
With all 30 Akay ni Gob Botika now operational, the provincial government of Laguna reinforces its commitment to inclusive and responsive governance, delivering concrete solutions that prioritize health, ease financial burdens, and uplift communities across the province.
