22 OFWs in Israel want to return home — DMW

SOME 22 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Israel have asked the government to be repatriated amid  the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.

Migrant Workers Officer-In-Charge  Hans Leo Cacdac on Thursday said of that number, 19 are caregivers while three are hotel workers.

According to Cacdac, right now they are adjusting the agreement with the employer of the OFWs to ensure that there will be no problem in their repatriation and that they will have a job to return to as soon as the chaos is over.

On the other hand, Cacdac said there are three OFWs who are monitoring their status because of the fear that they will be caught in the chaos.

Cacdac assured that they will continue to talk with their counterpart in Israel to ensure the safety of Filipinos there.

There is yet no schedule for the repatriation of OFWs, but it was assured that they will be sent home in the next few days.

He said among those who will be sent home are the remains of two Filipinos who died in Israel.
