CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Six sacks containing shabu worth P802-million on Thursday were seized by operatives of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) in Mariveles, Bataan.
The sacks containing 118 packs and weighing approximately 118 kilograms and valued at P802,400,000 were found on the shoreline of Bgy. Sisiman in Mariveles.
Acting on information from a concerned citizen, personnel of the Mariveles police, together with the Bataan Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, the Bataan Provincial Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence Division 3 and the Bataan Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency under the supervision of Bataan police director Col. Marites A. Salvadora immediately proceeded to the reported location near the lighthouse where the sacks were discovered.
An inventory of the seized illegal drugs was conducted in the presence of media representatives, barangay officials, and a representative from the Department of Justice (DOJ).
The confiscated sacks of shabu were turned over to the Bataan Forensic Unit headed by Lt. Col. Amilyn Maclid for laboratory examination and proper disposition.
PRO3 director Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. commended his men for the successful operation.
“This significant recovery is a testament to what can be achieved when the community and law enforcement work hand-in-hand. We commend the concerned citizen who came forward and our operating units for their swift and coordinated action,” Peñones said.
“Every kilo of drugs we take off the streets is a step closer to safeguarding our communities and securing a better future for our nation,” he added.
