CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga —Two most wanted persons on Thursday were arrested by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in separate operations in Bulacan and Bataan.
CIDG Regional Field Unit 3 chief Col. Grant Gollod said the arrests were part of the police’s intensified manhunt campaign “Oplan Pagtugis.”
In Bulacan, authorities arrested alias “Tatay,” 82, listed as no. 2 most wanted person of the Police Regional Office 3 and the Bulacan police.
The suspect, a widower and a resident of Bgy. San Agustin, Tuktukan, Guiguinto, was nabbed by joint operatives of the CIDG Bulacan Provincial Field Unit and the Guiguinto police.
The arrest was carried out based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 18 in Malolos City, Bulacan for two counts of rape by sexual assault and rape.
Another most wanted person was arrested on the same day in Abucay, Bataan.
CIDG operatives arrested alias “Egrobay,” 60, a carpenter and a resident of Sitio 2000, Bgy. Capitangan, listed as no. 9 most wanted of the Bataan Police Provincial Office.
Gollod said the operation was led by the CIDG Bataan Provincial Field Unit, with the help of the Abucay Police Station, following an intelligence-driven operation.
The suspect was arrested based on a warrant issued by the Family Court Branch 2 in Balanga City, Bataan, for five counts of violation of Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
According to Gollod, the arrests form part of continuing efforts to track down wanted persons and hauled them to jail.
