CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has joined the nationwide observance of National Women’s Month this March, recognizing the vital role and contributions of women, particularly those in uniform, in nation-building and public service.
With the theme “We for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society,” the month-long celebration was formally launched on March 5 with a series of activities led by PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez.
Among the highlights of the kickoff event was a bloodletting activity conducted in partnership with donate.philippines led by its president Myrna Reyes and the PRO3 Officers Ladies Club headed by Lorina Batangan.
Wellness activities were also held, with Dr. Sheryl Palad serving as guest of honor and speaker.
According to the PRO3, additional seminars, lectures, and other gender and development-related programs will be conducted throughout the month to raise awareness about women’s rights, empowerment, and inclusivity within the police organization.
Mendez emphasized the importance of strengthening the role of women in the police force by providing more opportunities for leadership and operational responsibilities.
“In honor of all the women in the police service, the command continues to empower policewomen and give them opportunities to serve in leadership and operational roles traditionally dominated by men,” he said.
The Central Luzon top cop added that the initiative aims to bridge gender gaps and further promote gender equality and women’s empowerment within the Philippine National Police.
