LAGUNA Gov. Sol Aragones on Tuesday led the grand opening of the Anilag (Ani ng Laguna) Festival Level Up 2026 attended by at least 10,000 Lagunenses, local and foreign tourists at the Provincial Capitol Grounds in Sta. Cruz town.
This year’s festival will be bigger, more organized, and more enjoyable for Lagunenses and visitors of the province, said the governor.
“Tinawag nating level up kasi hindi lamang tampok dito ang iba’t ibang produkto mula sa iba’t-ibang bayan at siyudad sa Laguna kungdi level up din sa ani ng talento,” the governor said.
She said the weeklong celebration, which runs from March 16 to 21, serves as an important platform for promoting local tourism, supporting small businesses, and highlighting the province’s vibrant culture.
The grand opening was graced by Sex Bomb Girls Rochelle, Pangilinan, Aira Bermudez, Sandy Benitez Tolentino , and Mia Pangyarihan, whose dance performances thrilled the crowds.
Also present in the event was Sen. JV Ejercito, who personally announced his support for Aragones’ projects for the province.
“Pagtutulungan po natin pagandahin ang Laguna Provincial Hospital. Nangako po ako ng P100 million para sa pagpapatayo ng hospital building and another P50 million para sa pagbili ng ambulansiya at patient transport vehicles,” Ejercito, whose ancestors were from Pagsanjan, Laguna, said. His cousin, ER Ejercito, was the former mayor of Pagsanjan town, and ex-governor of Laguna.
“Tutulungan po natin si Gob. Sol na higit pang pasiglahin ang ekonomiya ng Laguna. Tutulong din po tayo para sa pagbibigay ng hanapbuhay para sa mga taga-Laguna,” he added.
Laguna Vice Gov. JM Carait, mayors, vice mayors, councilors, Board members, and city hall officials and employees were also present in the occasion.
The festival launching was followed by the ribbon-cutting for the trade fair that will showcase the best products of Laguna.
Prior to Anilag Festival’s grand launching, Aragones on Monday night paid tribute to the outstanding men and women of Laguna during the “Gawad Parangal sa mga Natatanging Lagunense.”
One of the awardees was former Laguna Gov. Joey Lina who serenaded Aragones with Sharon Cuneta’s famous song “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas.”
