Members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – Cavite Provincial Field Unit under Lt. Col. Bryan Dexter Andulan implemented a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 issued by Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Agripino Bravo, Branch 55, Lucena City, Quezon.
Arrested in the operation at Blk. 5, Lot 48, Dhalia St., Le Rica Homes, Bgy. San Francisco, General Trias City was Cenon Marquez.
Seized were 15 firearms and ammunition.
Andulan said the suspect is tampering the serial numbers of the firearms and sell them.
During the operation, the suspect presented an unsigned certification from the Firearms and Explosives Office dated May 6, 2024.
Upon initial review, one of the 15 seized firearms is an “ARMSCOR” brand but records showed that the unit with same serial number is recorded as “ROCK ISLAND” made.
Further ocular inspection on the same gun appeared that it was tampered.
The 14 firearms are ROCK ISLAND pistols but records revealed they have the same serial numbers and marked as ARMSCOR.
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit 4A chief Col. Reynante Panay commended the CIDG Cavite for the accomplishment.
“The confiscation of the 15 units of firearms is a testament of the aggressive stance of this unit on its campaign against loose firearms and other criminalities while we all prepare for a peaceful May 2025 national and local elections,” Panay said.
