TWO minors on Thursday were arrested while over P1 million worth of shabu was seized in a buy-bust operation in Bgy. Panapaan, Bacoor City, Cavite.
Provincial Intelligence Unit chief Lt. Col. Jerry B. Corpuz identified the arrested suspects as alias “Jalila,” 15, and alias “Ric,” 16; both children in conflict with the law residing in Bgy. Datu Esmael, Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
Operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit-Cavite Provincial Police Office, and the Bacoor Component City Police Station arrested the duo in a sting in Bgy. Panapaan, Bacoor City.
The suspects were caught after they sold suspected shabu worth P55,500 to a police poseur buyer.
Also seized from alias “Jalila” and alias “Ric” were the marked P500 bill, 55 pieces of P1,000 boodle money, an Android phone, a brown sling bag, and the 150 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1,020,000.
Cavite police provincial director Col. Eleuterio M. Ricardo Jr. thanked the community for their support, noting that success of the operation was due to the combined efforts of the police and the public.
“Mas paiigtingin pa ng kapulisan ng Cavite ang aming kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga nang sa ganun ay mapanatili natin ang maayos at tahimik na lalawigan at tuluyang mapuksa ang salot na bawal na gamot,” Ricardo said.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied for filing in court against the arrested young suspects.
