MOTORCYC-RIDING armed men on Saturday shot dead a village chief in Angat, Bulacan.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., the Bulacan police identified the victim as Wenceslao Bernardo, chairman of Bgy. Marungko in Angat.
Bernardo, along with some of his constituents, were conducting a clean-up drive at Sitio Tugatog when two men on a plateless motorcycle arrived.
The backrider pulled out a gun and shot the victim twice at the back of his head then fled towards Bustos, Bulacan.
The village chair was rushed to the Twin Care Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival by an attending physician.
Police immediately conducted a dragnet and follow-up operation to arrest the killers.
