A COMPANY executive on Friday was injured when he tried to defend himself from a robber who tried to stab him in Floridablanca, Pampanga.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., Pampanga police director Col. Jay Dimaandal identified the victim as Richard Jose, 47, manager of Fuel Hub and a resident of Bgy. Palmayo, Floridablanca.
Suspect Steven Manacmul, 27, was arrested by pursuing lawmen.
Mariel Beltran, 42, owner of Fuel Hub company located in Bgy. San Nicolas, told police that Jose arrived at their office and noticed a foot behind the door.
The suspect suddenly appeared and attacked Jose with a knife.
However, the victim was able to defend himself by parrying the attack with his arm, causing an injury to his right arm.
The suspect fled by climbing the perimeter fence of the Basa Airbase. After a brief chase, he was cornered and arrested by responding policemen.
Based on investigation, the suspect gained entry by cutting the roof and once inside stole two electric wires and placed them inside his bag.
The suspect also attempted to break the safety vault containing cash but was interrupted by the victim entering the office.
Seized from the suspect were two rolls of electric wires, two steel bars, one chisel, one wrench, and a motorcycle with sidecar.
The suspect is now detained at the Floridablanca police jail facility facing robbery charges.
