A 27-YEAR-OLD feed mill worker on Friday died in a freak accident in the City of San Fernando in Pampanga.
Pampanga police director Col. Jay Dimaandal, in his report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., identified the victim as Eleazar Mijares, 27, of Apartment 3, Purok 1, Bgy. Baliti, City of San Fernando.
The suspect was Danilo Soyosa, a 31-year-old co-worker of Mijares.
Mijares and Soyosa are both workers at UNAHCO Feed Mill Inc. located in Purok 1, Bgy. Baliti.
Prior to the freak accident, Mijares and Soyosa were both fixing the mixer shafting at the second floor of the feed mill.
Soyosa went to the third floor of the mixer and switched it on, not knowing that Mijares was still inside the mixer.
Soyosa then heard a scream from inside the machine and upon seeing Mijares was still inside the mixer blade, he immediately turned off the switch and sought the help of their co-workers to remove the victim from inside the mixer.
Responding members of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) tried to revive the victim but to no avail.
Mijares was brought to the company’s clinic, where Dr. Junces dela Cruz declared him dead.
Charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide are being readied for filing in court against Soyosa.
