MAYOR Luis “Jon Jon” Ferrer IV of General Trias in Cavite directed the City Health Office (CHO) and the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) to immediately respond to the increasing cases of dengue in the city.
The CHO conducted fumigation and misting in areas with recorded cases of dengue.
According to the CHO and CESU, maintaining a clean surrounding and the conduct of search and destroy of mosquito breeding sites play a vital role in reducing dengue cases.
The CHO also advised residents not to forget to inspect buckets, old tires, gutters, cans, and other containers where mosquitoes can breed.
It said also important is to contact the focal persons of each Homeowners Association to step up the anti-dengue drive in conjunction with the fogging operations of the CHO Fumigation Team.
“If you feel signs of dengue such as prolonged fever, headache, vomiting, or skin rashes, seek immediate consultation with the nearest healthcare facility,” CHO head Dr. Jonathan Luseco said.
The Fumigation Team has already conducted fumigation at Dream Homes in Bgy. San Juan 2; Mary Cris, Pasong Camachile 2; South Square, Pasong Kawayan 2; Ward 1, Aggregated; Crystal Aire, Bgy. San Francisco; Lavanya, Bacao 2; Ward 2 Bgy. Santiago; San Isidro in Bgy. Javalera and Heneral Uno in Bgy. Pasong Kawayan 2.
CESU is also conducting a Community Assembly on Dengue Awareness in every village in the city, in collaboration with the Barangay Health Workers, to prevent the further increase in cases of dengue.
