POLICE Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon) has a new top cop in the person of Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas.
Lucas, a member of the Philippine National Police Academy “Patnubay” Class of 1995 and a native of the Cordillera region, on Tuesday assumed the post replacing Brig. Gen. Carlito Gaces.
Philippine National Police, Gen Benjamin Acorda Jr. led the turnover ceremony held at Camp Vicente Lim in Canlubang, Calamba City, Laguna.
The newly-installed regional director expressed his honor and enthusiasm in accepting the new role.
He pledged to continue the mission of the PNP, ensuring a relentless pursuit of peace and order and a strong commitment to community engagement and collaboration in the Calabarzon region aligned with the chief PNP’s 5 Focused Agenda, the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s “BIDA” or Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan program and the Bagong Pilipinas concept.
“Our mission as law enforcement officer is full of challenges but it is through unity and collective action that we can overcome the challenges and make our communities safer,” Lucas said.
Addressing everyone, Lucas presented his policies that will form part of his leadership, including Enhancing Public Safety and Security, Professional Development, and Community Engagement.
“I am committed to leading this Police Regional Office with these principles at the forefront of our mission. Let us strive for excellence in our professional engagement with the community, ensuring that their voices are heard, and their contributions are valued,” he said.
Acorda extended his full support and confidence to the new director, encouraging him to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor and uphold the standards of excellence expected from the PNP.
The ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including government officials, community leaders, other law enforcement personnel, and members of the media.
Lucas is the second “Lakan” who took the helm of leading the men and women of the Police Regional Office Calabarzon who will be serving the people of the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon.
After the ceremony, a drug testing was conducted to the personnel to ensure a drug-free PRO-Calabarzon workplace.
Meanwhile, the Regional Director briefly talked to the members of the command group, regional staff, provincial directors, and other personal and special staff and reiterated his marching guidance on the support to the chief PNP’s program thrusts, which is the “Serbisyong Nagkakaisa.”
“Let us also build a harmonious relationship with our subordinates and other officers,” Lucas said.
